About us
A UK charity established to support international students studying in the United Kingdom.
The Guiding Hand Foundation is a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales on 16 July 2025, charity number 1214155. We are committed to fostering inclusion, reducing hardship and promoting wellbeing for students who have travelled far from home to study.
Our mission
To provide compassionate, practical and accessible support to international students in the UK, empowering them to thrive academically, emotionally and socially. We offer guidance, financial assistance and community-based solutions that help students overcome the challenges of studying in a foreign country.
Our vision
A United Kingdom where every international student feels welcomed, supported and empowered, whatever their background or circumstances, and where no international student faces isolation, financial hardship or systemic barriers to opportunity and wellbeing.
Our charitable purposes
Our constitution sets out three purposes:
- The relief of need among international students studying in the UK, including admissions guidance, accommodation and settling-in support, cultural orientation, employment and career support, and information on UK student and Graduate Route visas.
- The relief of financial hardship among international students studying in the UK.
- Promoting social inclusion in areas with universities and colleges, by preventing international students from becoming socially excluded and helping them integrate into society.
Governance
We are governed by a board of trustees, who are responsible for our direction, finances and compliance with charity law.
